News from our India social entrepreneurship pilot Posted on September 24th, 2013 by

I just got a newsy email from Steve Moertel, an E/M major who is working his internships and NGO responsibilities near Bangalore as part of the social entrepreneurship program. It’s simply an amazing opportunity and he is taking full advantage of this experience. Here’s what he said:

For me, the adjustments have been tough, but they have also been a time of deep reflection on my worldview and perceptions of different cultures. I have also loved every minute of it. I have met some extraordinary people here, making new friends with some of the SJPD [Social Justice, Peace & Development program] students as well as some of the residents of Visthar [where they did their initial cultural immersion learning]. It has been one of the most challenging experiences in my life to this point, and I am excited for what is to come next. I believe we are visiting a hospital tomorrow. Thank you again for introducing me to this program and the great opportunity that it has been and will be. I feel honored that I am part of this pilot that is hopefully breaking ground for future generations of this program, and I am pushing myself in ways I have not pushed myself before.

I could not have hoped for more from a participant in this program!
